FLAG Cruising Antifoul is a copper based antifouling free from booster biocides. This is an economical (cruising grade) self eroding antifouling with proven performance within a wide variety of UK conditions and many European locations.
Flag Antifouling is proven to create less 'build up' than many traditional antifoulings. This product is self-priming when topping up existing (similar copper based) antifoulings; otherwise FLAG Antifouling Primer or FLAG Multi-Purpose Metallic Primer is required.
Suitable for general sailing and displacement craft with cruising speeds up to around 8 knots. Also suitable for fresh water.
FLAG Performance Extra has one of the highest concentrations of copper currently available and is made hard enough to be used on all types of craft in all environments.
Combine excellent covervage and lasting quality with great value.
Preparation. Enure the substrate is suitably smooth for the best contact with the paint.
Do not use FLAG copper based antifoulings on aluminium outdrives or zinc anodes.
Iron keels should be ground and brushed, rust treated with Flag Rust Converter.
FLAG Antifoulings are compatible with most other conventional antifouling but if in doubt, a barrier coat of FLAG Multi Purpose Metallic Primer should be applied first.
Wearing protective clothing and a mask is a MUST.
Stir the paint! Use a stirring knife or similar to mix the copper that would've settled at the bottom of the can. To make this process easier store the cans upside down so that the copper starts at the top.
Apply a minimum of 2 coats using a brush and roller.
GRP, wood, steel and ferro cement. Not suitable for aluminium or galvanised surfaces.
Theoretical spreading rate: 10 sq.metres per litre.
